1. YOU:
I am someone who is constantly encouraging people to try their hardest in reaching their fullest potential. I would consider myself a very positive and optimistic person especially when it involves changing lives, specifically in the education system, which related to my concept. I believe this business plays a huge role in my life because I am very passionate about helping in any way I can especially a widespread unmet need such as the education system in our country that affects the lives of so many people.

2. WHAT ARE YOU OFFERING TO CUSTOMERS?
I am offering my customers(students and staff who work for or attend poorly funded public schools) a nonprofit organization that strives to raise money in order to help provide adequate resources in order to improve their learning/teaching experience. Many schools around the US do not have access to technology and standard resources in order to allow teachers to teach and students to learn without any limitations. This organization will hold fundraisers around the US to raise money for this unmet need and will also take in any donations of unwanted technology that can be put to use in these classrooms such as computers, printers, projectors, tablets, etc.

3. WHO ARE YOU OFFERING IT TO?
I am offering this service to students who attend and staff who work for poorly funded public schools around the US that do not have adequate resources in order to allow them to reach their fullest potential. Specifically those at schools who do not have access to standard technology to aid the learning process such as computers, printers, projectors or even standard resources such as paper, pencils, pens, and other necessary resources.

4. WHY DO THEY CARE?
Today, education is so important in order to be successful in one's future. Limiting students' academic potentials due to a lack of resources is a widespread unmet need, but because this is such a crucial aspect of becoming a successful individual of our society, education should constantly be encouraged and one of our top priorities. This service directly determines and affects my customers' future and success.

5. WHAT ARE YOUR CORE COMPETENCIES?
The process in donating or fundraising will be very easy to follow and simple in order to make it an effortless experience. Those who donate will also very followed by updates on how their simple act of kindness affected a certain student or school, so we will have students who benefit from this service send thank you cards to those who made an impact on their lives.

I believe all of these elements work together well in analyzing my business concept in order to assure it will be successful. I have not found that any of these elements are weaker aspects of my business concept solely because this is such a widespread unmet need for our society and the education system can never have too much help. This problem does not only affect my direct customers, but also sets a social and education standard for everyone else outside of the boundary, so it should be a collective effort in aiding this problem.

  1. I really like your idea of having people donate technology they don't want. Of course it would need to go through steps to be controlled to block access to certain sites, that doesn't mean it isn't worth pursuing. I personally have two old laptops I do not use. They are pretty slow, and if I were to feel super generous, I might be moved to donate one of them. Whatever the case, I believe there is a way to get this idea working - it might take some computer experts to ensure after getting all these computers that they are still fast enough to be able to be used.

  2. Hi Kalie!
I love your idea of donating technology we no longer use. I think it really does help in educating a child and allows them to enjoy learning more. I would definitely donate my old computers and ipads to allow others to make use of them. OVeral,, this is an excellent idea and would definitely work out.

  3. Your idea is not a new one in regards to nonprofit, but I never though we could use that mentality for schools. I don't know why this doesn't exist yet but if you make this a real product it will definitely make an impact. You could also pitch to tech companies to donate older, unbought computers or tablets. Make sure to get your idea out there and differentiate I early on from other nonprofits.
