15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No.2

ENT3003 Assignment 15A
12 March 2020

I determined that the individuals who fit in my segment were those directly and indirectly affected by the lack of adequate resources provided to public schools as a result of a low-income community or poor public school funding. I found three people on the UF swim team to interview, who attended preliminary school in the Gainesville community that experienced aspects like these. To my customers who actually fund the nonprofit organization I created in order to help this issue and unmet need by my specific segment, each of them believe that buyers(those who donate) pick where to contribute to based on the legitimacy and based on the particular purpose of that organization and what they feel most passionate about. All three of my interviewees said that they would either donate cash or finance depending on the organization and how widespread the issue is throughout the US. This would have to be an online transaction unless those donating have a local funding event held by my organization in order to donate in person there. The post purchase evaluation would be the easiest and most straight forwards part of this interview that I found their answers to all parallel. They said as long as their money is going to a good cause and aiding someone or something that is in need, they will feel that the purchase was a good idea. They said a bad purchase would be donating to a cause that they feel should not be a priority in fixing and furthermore that goes through an organization that lacks legitimacy and clarity in how exactly they approach the issue through funding and donations. All three of my interviews were very similar in that they all agreed that the pre and post purchase evaluation are very important when determining the future success or failure of an organization, product, etc. They believed that because my organization addresses an important issue, they feel that as part of the segment of my issue it will be popular. These interviews leave me to believe that my organization in efforts to help this cause will be successful in regards to the aspects addressed of this assignment.

  1. Hey Kalie,
When it comes to donating money, it seems like there are a lot of organizations that in the fine print admit only a small percentage of the donations get to the intended recipient. It is important to give people confidence in the legitimacy of your nonprofit. This could be done by showing what has already been done by the organization to get resources to schools in need. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but there must be investment in good wifi. In middle school, I was in a lower income school and the computers took 20 minutes just to log me in. If computers take too long to serve their purpose, they becomes discouraging to use.

  2. hello Kalie!
For sure I agree with the importance of pre and post evaluation, as the people you interviewed all mention. And legitimacy of the organization for sure plays a role. Also, I feel like the issue you are addressing is a widespread problem throughout the US, and that is very important when people are considering donating as you mention.
    Thank you for sharing!

  3. I believe you have a very large pool of people. The majority of people in the United States go to pubic school, and the majority of these schools are either under funded or poorley funded. In my opinion the biggest obstacle your going to have is getting people to continuously donate money. I believe this may be a cause people will easily donate their money to once, however, I believe you are going to have trouble getting people donate multiple times.

  4. Kalie!
I think you found great people to interview! I agree that those who believe it would go to a good cause would donate! The only issue would be the constant donation! There could be something that would work but it may be difficult!
